Have A Skin Care Question? Ask Here!

Thanks for stopping by Skin Renewal Method. Since 2008 we’ve provided free skin care advice for tens of thousands of you. We receive over a 2,100 questions per week. Thus, we’ve amassed a lot of help with skin care information for you. We do so with pleasure. We want to continue providing this free service. However, in the last year or so, we’ve considered doing away with this service, because  many of you who stop by to ask us free skin care questions don’t look through the information that is available to you in our BLOG or YouTube Skin Care Channel. 99% of the questions we receive have already been covered. So, we will happily provide you with free expert skin care advice, but to ensure you get an answer, please be sure to look through our skin care blog or YouTube skin care channel.

Before you send in your question (we receive an average of 300 questions per day) please have a look through our videos. There are hundreds of videos covering 95% of the questions we receive on a daily basis. While we are happy to offer you free skin care advice, we will not be able to answer questions already covered in Eva’s video blogs. Have a look through the videos that pertain to your question, and only if you don’t find the answer to your question then you are welcome to email Eva directly by filling out the info below.

So, I have tried alot. ProActive recently stopped working for me, and other brand names, like Noxzema, have failed. I cannot seem to find anything that works. I am a 15 year old male. Do you have any other ideas on what could work for me?

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

      Hi Ben:

Sorry for your frustrations. The good news is that you’re not alone, and what you write about is quite common. What I can suggest is that you watch the following YouTube video vlogs we’ve made about products such as the ones you mention, why they stop working and you’ll learn about options as well. Once you watch them, if you still have questions, we’ll be more glad to answer your questions or advise you on our Acne Solution product line. The following links should be of some great help. Good luck!!

I dont get much acne, just a few pimples here and there. I’m of indian descent so my skin is already brown. I’m 16, and i have this pimple that has turned kind of dark, but the pimple itself hasnt left my face yet. What can i do to at least get rid of the darkness?? I have an important day tomorrow!!! Pleasee helppp!!!

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

It’s completely unrealistic to think that you can get rid or lighten dark spots over night! We urge you not to use any home remedies out on the net, you will cause great damage to your skin. Next time you’re in need of advice, visit our YouTube channel which has over 200 videos that cover so many skin care topics. http://youtube.com/skincarechannel

  7. Malia says:

Hi. I’m 13 and I have acne on my forehead, around my nose under my eyes and my chin. I’ve tried a gel containing benzoyl peroxide but didn’t see any results, in fact it kind of got worse. But I saw a dermatologist a week ago and started using “epiduo”(contains benzoyl peroxide and adapalen)
But after putting it on for two days (only before bedtime and washing it off in the morning) I got very dehydrated skin around my eyes and on my eyelids(we just started having minus degrees) but I’ve been using a moisturizer (olive natural moisturizing cream) though it hasn’t helped. Could I get some advice? I’m getting depressed over attending school with these skin problems.

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

Dear Malia: It’s best you go back to your dermatologist and go over these concerns with him/her. We cannot give you advise which goes against your current medical care. Benzoyl peroxide tends to dry out the skin a lot (and cause dryness, which you refer to as dehydration). We’ve vlogged about it quite a few times. I urge you to watch the following links with your parents/s and/or adult you trust. They will know how to best advise you. Here are some helpful links to teach you about benzoyl peroxide:

  8. Cindy N. says:

I have a red hard bump on my face. How I get rid of it without using anything with salicylic acid? I can’t use salicylic acid as I am allergic to it.

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

If it is a cyst, you should see a dermatologist. If it is a pimple then I would suggest our Acne Solution Over Night Drying lotion. For breakout and pimple sufferers, this is our little miracle in a bottle! Formulated with menthol (and no harsh drying ingredients such as benzoyl perxide), this over night drying lotion is designed to clarify even the most of stubborn breakouts. It is to be used as a spot treatment, and applied directly only onto pimples or breakouts. Here’s the link: http://www.skinrenewalmethod.com/acne-solution-over-night-pimple-drying-lotion-25/ It is difficult to advise when I don’t have photos. Also, I made a video vlog speaking about this topic. You should watch it, I am sure it will help you. http://youtu.be/8sjcslK48Sw. Good luck and best of health! — Eva.

Hello, From Time To Time My Face Will Breakout Wit Acne And When The Bumps Go Away They Tend To Leave A Scar/ Dark Mark Where The Bumps Were. Which One Of Your Products Will Help My Problem? And Get Rid Of The Acne And Spots.

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

      Dear Jasmine:

Thank you for your interest in my skin care products. Please provide me with the following information (1) How old are you?, and (2) What is your skin color? Wishing you best of health! — Eva.

  10. Jasmine says:

I’m 27 Years Old And I’m African American

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

I’ll be glad to advise you. I would recommend you email me photos of the affected areas. I don’t have to see entire face. That way, I can better advise you and see what is going on. Here’s my email address: AskAboutSkinCare(at)Gmail(dot)com. Thank you for your interest in my products. I appreciate it. — Eva.

  11. Stephen says:

I have severe acne/pimples on both of my cheeks, I’m 17& white. How do I make them go away?

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

If they are indeed severe, I would suggest that you see a dermatologist. If you don’t think they are as severe as you’ve described, please feel free to email us photos and we will advise you further at AskAboutSkinCare(at)Gmail(dot)com. Wishing you best of health! — Eva.

  12. Chrys says:

I was interested in lightening my vaginal area, not because of porn or anyting, but because I have been getting dark spots and bumps after shaving. I am a dark-skinned African American. 18 years old. I am not going for the “pink” or “white” look. I just don’t want any more ugly dark spots or bumps! I want to lighten the bruises to my regular skin color.

  13. Kelsey says:

I have been using clinique 3 step for the past year. My skin in breaking out in little bumps and i have yet to see results from washing my face each day. I have never had a problem with my skin before. Any suggestions?

  14. Dylan says:

Im 18 and caucasian, proactive no longer works for me. I get biggish very noticable pimples around my mouth and on my cheeks that dont ever go away. As soon as one clears up another takes its place, its very frustrating and embarassing, help please!

  15. Aqua says:

are using green tea alone as a daily face cleanser, and daily face toner are good? what the benefit our skin will get from it?

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

      Hi Aqua:

Using green tea alone will not combat skin issues. Drinking it several times per day is great, because it’s a natural antioxidant, but you’ll need more than just green tea in your products.

  16. Gemma says:

I use Clearsil and get bad breakouts. I’m a 15 yr old girl. Why won’t it go away?

  17. Chloe Harden says:

I’m 13 and I have SUPER oily skin I get that I’m going through puberty and what not but my oiliness has been SO bad that when I wear makeup like bronzer it ends up in a random place on my face then theres this random strip of something darker in a spot its not supposed to be. What can I do to help my oiliness? Thanks.

  18. Ben says:

Thank you preemptively for your help. I have recurring small red patches that appear to the sides of my nose; generally it is just the redness but sometimes the side of my nose and the rash itself can get flakey. I notice my nose is often oily, and especially oily on the sides of my nose when I wake up in the morning. I have been diagnosed by a dermatologist for Tinea Versicolor on my back and chest before (years ago), and this rash looks similar, but a different shade (red rather than brown).

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

Hi Ben: I really am unable to advise you without seeing what you’re speaking of. You’re welcome to email me pics directly to AskAboutSkinCare(at)Gmail(dot)com. Wishing you best of health. — Eva.

  19. marisa says:

What product of yours do you recommend for dark circles on indian skin? I watched your you tube videos but an unsure what specific product of yours would help improve the appearance?

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

Hello Marisa: Thank you very much for your interest in my products and for watching my videos. Please be so kind an email me photos first. I would like to see if your dark circles can be treated. You may email me photos to: AskAboutSkinCare(at)Gmail(dot)com. For candidates, my Arbutin Lightening System is the product line we recommend for dark circles: http://www.skinrenewalmethod.com/arbutin-skin-lightening-system/ Thank you again for your interest. — Eva.

  20. Anne Franco says:

Any suggestions in curing pimples overnight? Much better if it’s home remedies so I can easily do it. They are not that big but they’re red and it’s annoying. I want to get rid of these. Thanks!

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

Hello Anne: Pimples come in all shapes and sizes. Some my be superficial, and some have deeper whiteheads (the pus/infected sebum). So depending on the grade of pimple, there is no real over night remedy (such as using toothpaste or lemon juice, both can cause discoloration or worse- minor burns to the skin). The best way to treat this is good skin care regimen (i.e. such as the Acne Solution, which treats oily skin and contains an exfoliating product and is ideal for oily skin, AS WELL AS an overnight pimple drying lotions which DOES NOT cause excessive dryness to the skin because it does not contain any benzoyl peroxide: http://www.skinrenewalmethod.com/acne-solution-shop/); meaning you cleanse and tone your skin daily, exfoliate several times per week, and have a proper facial geared oily skin. Don’t go to a mall or a huge med spa, you usually won’t find an expert in skin care. Look for a European skin care clinic in your area. Here are some video vlogs I made that should offer you a lot of information and help. Wishing you best of health! — Eva. Below are video vlogs I made which should offer you further help and a wealth of information:

  21. Selena says:

hello, i am a 14 year old girl, and i have a very oily nose, but the rest of my face isn’t oily at all. how can i stop this oily mess?

  22. Ethan says:

Hello, I’m a 13 y/o male, with white skin. I’ve had this pimple below my lip on my chin for about a month, and after a week from obtaining it, I accidentally popped it. It looked like it was infected later on, and it looked hideous, so I got my mother to put make-up on it. A while later the scab fell off, but it seemed the pimple had stayed. A small pencil-eraser sized blemish had stayed on. Fast-forward three weeks and the brownish blemish is still there, and I’m starting to worry. Neither of my parents had terrible acne during their adolescence, and I’ve never had anything like this before. I haven’t even tried to treat it! What can I do?

  23. Ayana says:

Around my mouth, upper lip under my neck, and chin are dark from tweezing the hair that grows there. When I use to shave only I never hand any discoloration. I wash my face with african black soap and baking soda and I apply rose hips oil and tamanu oil all over my face and the discolored areas. I also apply licorice root extract only to the dark areas. It’s slowly starting to fade . Which one of your products do you recommend for the dark patches?

  24. Sara says:

Hi, I am a 20 year fair skinned pakistani however the back of neck and area around my waist/hips are really dark. My mum says its because of dirt and I need to scrub hard, is this true? could there be any other reasons for it? Thank you

  25. Amy says:

Hi, I have been watching your videos and decided to approach you about a problem I have been having for a while now. I am a 21 year old female of Hispanic (Dominican) descent, with dark pores all over my legs and even on my pelvic/hip area. I have tried everything from body acne washes to exfoliation and nothing seems to work. I am in modelling world and my skin is a huge part of my job so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

      Hello, Amy:

Thanks for watching my videos. You probably missed some of them, as I have covered your questions already in several video vlogs. Body washes will not help with discoloration. Exfoliation only sloughs off dead skin cells, and will not help, unless you’re using other products to penetrate the pores. You’re welcome to email me pictures to AskAboutSkinCare(at)Gmail(dot)com. In the meanwhile here are the links:

  26. Camille says:

Hi! I’m a 20yr old female with dark spots on my lips for a month. I don’t know what will i do with this. I think it happened because most of the time i bite my lip. What could be the remedies on how to bring back the pink lips?

  27. Ema says:

I am a 20 year old, light skin African American and a college student . I have VERY embarrassing inner thighs and arm pit darkening. I don’t like to raise my arms at all because it is very embarrassing, my uncle calls my armpits a burnt forest, I want to lighten them so they can be the same color as my color and so that I can raise my arms with no fears. My inner thighs are very dark and while I am not sexually active yet, when I choose to be I want to be the same color as my skintone. As you can see this is very damaging to my confidence. My skin is very sensitive will this be damaging to my skin any? Please tell me what I should purchase to help this problem of mine. Also, do you have any bundle deals, sales etc coming up? I am a college student so I am trying to be frugal with my money.

  28. vazzag says:

Ma’am, is there a product that you can suggest to lighten black lips.
I mean I do scrub my lips gently and then apply a lip balm.
But in order to make dark lips turn a bit pink, what method or regime do I need to follow or what are the products that I need to purchase.

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

What you’re proposing to do may cause you long-term irritation or damage. THERE ISN’T anything out there to lighten the lips!! Please learn to love yourself just as you are. Nothing is worth the risk, and if you try home remedies you may end up making your lips even darker.

  29. Kendall says:

Hi how do you get rid of acne on your lip line

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

Acne is a difficult skin condition to treat. You’re welcome to email me pictures to AskAboutSkinCare(at)Gmail(dot)com. Take good care, Eva.

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

Hi, Mabel: Thank you for your interest in my products. Before I advise you on which products to use I think it’s best I see some pictures. You may email me privately (no one will see your pics and they will be deleted after I see them) at AskAboutSkinCare(at)Gmail(dot)com. Looking forward to your email. — Eva.

  31. Sheila says:

Is there any home laser removal system that you can recommend for African Americans?

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

Sorry, NO. There isn’t anything like that which exists. Anything currently sold is a gimmick and a dishonest ploy to get you to spend your money. CoolGlide or an ND Yag based laser is your only option.

  32. Lisa says:

Do you have any recommendations on finding the medical spa in the Dallas,TX area that uses the CoolGlide laser?

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

Sure. Google “CoolGlide Dallas” and see what comes up. Then, research the med spas that come up and go in for a free consultation and ask questions. If they answer your questions satisfactory, this should be the place for you. I suggest you go through my laser hair removal videos, this way you’ll know what to ask for:

Hi my San is 17 and he underarms sweat a lot I used some deodorant from pharmacy but he sad they are not good ,what can I do to stop this to be normal sweting

    • SkinRenewalMethod says:

You should go see a dermatologist with your son before trying any new deodorants. Google natural deodorant recipes which use apple cider vinegar or baking soda this may help as well.
